I can't blame her!!

It's flip-flop season , and my feet are experiencing JOY in the purest form.
Freedom from socks, and closed toe shoes. Only walking on sand would increase my pleasure.

Most of the time, I travel shoeless. In my home and often when I drive. My "piggies" like to wiggle. So when summer arrives, I have no hesitation, bring out the sandals, and my beloved flip-flops.

There is one slight....problem. My darling, Crazy Diana, our cat, waits for summer also. She has an extreme fetish for flip-flops. She prefers cheep, slightly worn flippers. She shuns sandals, and even high end flip-flops. She is ADDICTED to cheap rubber!!!and in my mind?? I think she likes many colors.

I had to make a run to Old Navy yesterday, to purchase her toys. They often have flip-flops for one dollar. Yesterday's bargain was not so sweet, two pairs for five dollars. Still a great deal.
I was with my friends, who didn't question my purchase. I love it when your friends know you so well. Anyone else, may wonder WHY?? would someone buy her cat flip-flops? and actually ponder what colors to grab!!!

Of course I had to hit DSW for my flips, and dare Diana to touch them. I showed her the Nike logo, and reminded her , she did not like these.
Needless to say, she is a cat, I locked my closet door. She opens the door!!!! Not pushes the door open, she stands and turns the knob!!! all of the closets have locks on them. She loves,loves,loves her flip-flops.

I tell her, very lovingly?, that she could have been born in China, and been an entree!!!

She smiles, and bites her new flip-flop!!!!

School's Out For Summer!!!!

Today was my first "whole" day at home.

I was up at 4:00 AM, my body clock is still in work mode. Ugh, this will take some time, to adjust.

I love not having to do anything, but wanting to do everything. I have to pace myself.

I love going from room to room, of my house, to become familiar with her again. Clean up, move furniture around, and spruce up the torn and tattered.
Its time to get all of the "pool" gear ready and go through the fifty tubes of sunscreen, to see if they are still good!!! The wicker furniture, on the porch, cushions were cleaned, and she has a new throw rug, and a few new plants. Life comes back into my house in the summer. Yes, we have lived in the house, all the seasons, but summer brings the house to life, or maybe just the occupants!!!!

I have four bags going to the Good Will, and I have only tackled two rooms.

Tomorrow the basement, it is so exciting. (not pacing )

School's out and company comes tomorrow, there is life in my house!!!!

50 Years of MOTOWN!!!!

My Bill discovered my love of Motown the hard way.
One, newly wed morning, I came down our stairs for a cup of coffee.
Hubby Bill handed me my special cup, and screeched out, Marvin Gaye died!!!
"WHAT!" a blood curdling scream came out, and I began to flail, coffee flying.
Sobbing, I tried to explain , you have to ease into these things with me, especially death of anyone that I love!!!! You need to know I have a history with Motown, they are a part of my life!!!!
Smokey and The Miracles, Martha and The Vandellas, Marvin, The Supremes, Mary Wells, Gladys Knight and The Pips, Four Tops and the Temptations, all the artist played on my little transistor radio.
Sweltering summers in Florida, no air conditioner, the music cooled me down.
I would prop my radio in the window, to get better reception. Dancing in the Streets raised me to my feet, and Tears of a Clown caused me to sway, slow dancing.
I was Diana Ross with the SUPREME moves. Marvin made me feel ...weak in the knees.
Mr. Gordy, thank you for exposing this young southern white girl, to music that touched my soul.
My husband , of almost 30 years, never forgot the lesson he learned that Motown Day!!!!

Tell wife to sit down before I spring bad news on her, to avoid hearing her life history!!!! Always remember she has "Drama" issues!!!!!!
